The idea for today’s heartfelt thank you actually came last Thursday night when I returned from four days in Wisconsin. It’s always a great sight to return to Columbia to find my car ready and waiting right outside of the airport.

Dear Mr. Mann:
On behalf of rushed and weary travelers everywhere, I’d like to thank you for the valet parking at Columbia Metropolitan Airport and also commend valet parking employee Barbara for her friendly and helpful demeanor.
Not only is airport valet parking uniquely hospitable, it’s the only way I can catch my flight! It seems that no matter what my departure time, I’m always pushed to get there. I rarely arrive the recommended one hour ahead of time, and I’m always worried that I’ll miss my flight. With valet parking, I just pull up, drop off the keys and rush to the terminal; I haven’t missed a flight yet!
On the flip side, I’m never on time coming back to Columbia, especially if my layover is in Atlanta. Most often, it’s after dark, and I’m worn out from my trip and a long day of travel. It’s always such a treat to walk out and see my car waiting, and with a cold drink of water, at that.
As for Barbara, she always greets me with a smile and takes extra good care of me, no matter how frantic I am. I know, too, that she is a big part of the Airport’s recycling program, which boasts the best looking bins on the East coast, probably the entire country. She is a jewel, and I know you’re glad to have her.
The Columbia Metropolitan Airport almost makes air travel fun again – keep up the good work!
